Swords are made strictly to order only, completion time is about 2-3 months from confirmation of order dependent on the complexity of the design. All Historical Swords are made with direct reference to Ewart Oakshott,s typology. Custom Swords can be made to clients own designs or ideas wherever feasible. All my blades are hand forged, hand fullered and triple tempered from carbon steel or spring steel, I try to keep surface grinding to a minimum before final polishing.I was always taught, you Forge life INTO steel and you Grind life OUT. Pommels and crosses are forged from mild steel or wrought iron, the holes are punched not drilled,I do not use castings of any description. Grips are made of beech or lime wood, the sword tang is heated and used to burn the hole through the grip, The majority of the grips are covered with leather other materials are available, ie, snakeskin and rayskin Blades can have a live edge or they can be blunt for re-enactment.
